Stafilos Beach

Stafilos is one of the closest beaches to Skopelos Town. The beach is 5 km away from the capital, the stunning bay is accessible by local bus or private car.

Its name comes from the minoan prince Stafilos, the son of Ariadne and god Dionysus. Also, the graves with the funeral gifts (a golden sword handle and a bronze double ax) that found in the area during the excavations in 1930s confirm that he was the mythical settler of the island in 16th -14th B.C.

A nice fish tavern welcomes the visitors and some steps lead down to the lovely pebbled bay with fine grey sand and crystal clear waters. In the beach, there is a bar that offers you snaks, cold refreshments, coffee, and sunbeds.
